My name is Golden Etch and I'm an artist based in Monterey, California

My art is a conglomeration of juxtapositions and oxymorons encompassed in shades and hues. I use color, symbols, and strokes to convey the many dimensions of the same idea. I use the elements of art as anchors of serene wonder and also waves of sadness. I apply that same motif for all of my artwork; I call it “whimsical melancholy”. Everything is and isn’t as it seems. It is all up to your own unique perspective to experience the art however you feel. 

During the creation process I don’t always start out with a clear concept, emotionally or visually. The art is alive and moves at its own pace; years, months, days, or hours. Therefore, what I felt at the beginning may or may not be how I feel in the end. Even after years of a piece being done my perspective of it may shift, just like flowing tides of time. Welcome to the edge of wonder and sorrow.
